Creating the Magic.
I was hired by Skylight Design Company as an associate creative director on Harry Potter Wizards Unite: a mobile game that, like Pokemon Go, was conceived so fans could move about the real world, interacting with in-game characters and storylines steeped in Harry Potter lore. Of the intial 5 concepts I designed, “The Wand” was selected for production and I stepped into lead the team.
The images below show the progression from creative concept to final execution.
This was the original concept I presented with the hand being the central focus. this was significant because when playing the game, the user would be asked to manipulate the phone with spell-casting gestures much like a magician would in harry potter.
The styling of the hand with the wand was foreshadowing the gameplay interaction while setting the stage for the exciting world and characters throughout the game.

the bright sunflare, magical sky, and strong perspective of cityscape was A perfect reference for bringing the harry potter world to life.
I selected a range of models and then directed the photo-shoot for each character to be included in the key art.
the above rendering is the final artwork I directed for the global release of wizards unite.
